How far do you travel for weddings?
I generally stay in the areas of Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, Orange, and Culpeper in Virginia but will travel to other localities in Virginia as well.
Is there an additional charge if my wedding is outside your range?
Yes, if you are out side the areas mentioned in the previous question there will be a travel fee of $1 per mile. If your locality is more than 1.5 hours outside of 22508 there may also be an additional fee for an overnight stay.
Do you offer a CD of images in any of your packages?
No. The cool kids don't use CD's anymore. However, all of my collections include both an online gallery that you will be able to download your images from directly as well an USB drive that will include all of the images from your gallery that will arrive to you in a beautiful wooden custom storage and display box.
Does is cost extra to have the images edited?
No. In fact I do not release unedited images to anyone, ever. Like ever, ever.
Do you offer retouching of blemishes
Not to worry. If you wake up on the morning of your wedding with a giant pimple right in the middle of your forehead you will NOT see it in your pictures. However, if you ask me to remove items in images that could a. have been avoided (chipped nail polish for instance) or b. is something that doesn't go away (scars for example) there will be an additional charge for retouching on these types of things and it will be charged at $20 per image.
Do you offer any albums or prints in any of your packages?
Yes, of my 4 offered collections two include albums. Prints will be available to purchase within your online gallery.
Can i see an example of your albums and prints?
Heck yeah you can! We can schedule a time to meet at a local coffee shop and I can bring some samples to show you.
What can I expect to spend on my wedding package?
Wedding day collections begin at $1200
Can my family and friends see my photos?
Remember that online gallery I talked about earlier? Well you are welcome to share the link and password to that with anyone you want. You will even have the power to decide which images are available for them to view and which images you only want you and your beloved to be able to see. This is a nice option if you are purchasing images for parents and you want to surprise them and don't want them to see those particular images yet.
I have heard of a First Look? what is that?
This is something I would love to discuss with you when you have decided to become a Daydream Weddings Couple. However the brief description is that it's the moment when you and your beloved first see one another after you are all dressed for the wedding.
Do you require your couples to do the first look?
I do not. There are other options. Again, this is something I will discuss in length with you once you have decided to become a Daydream Weddings Couple.
How much time is needed typically to shoot a wedding
There is no solid answer to this. Once you have decided to become a Daydream Weddings Couple we will discuss your plans for your big day and work together to create a timeline that will help keep both me and everyone else on track.
Will you come for the rehearsal?
If I am available and if it is a venue that I have never photographed before I would like to attend the rehearsal simply to familiarize myself with the location. If you would like me to photograph the rehearsal that is not a part of my collections and will incur extra fees.
How many photographers come with you on the wedding day?
It depends on the collection that you decide upon.
Do you bring any assistants?
I always try to have an extra persona available to assist me.
Do you have backup equipment?
Of course, what professional wouldn't?
What do you wear to photograph weddings?
I generally try to wear something that is comfortable but neat. Generally slacks and a nice blouse or even a skirt or dress. No worries I always wear short underneath so none of my bits and pieces are going to show when I get into those odd positions we photographers often like to maneuver into.
Will my images be posted on social networking sites?
I do like to post images from weddings on my social networking sites, my blog and even sometimes submit them to other blogs. This is a huge help to keep my business up and running. If there is a special circumstance that requires that your images not be posted please let me know.
Do any of your packages include an engagement session?
Yes! All of my collections include a couple's/engagement session. I find that it is a wonderful way for us to get to know one another and for you to feel more comfortable with me and my camera.
If i don't want something that's included in a package can I remove it?
I doubt this will happen, but if there is something that you don't want then we can work to try to substitute it with an item that you would rather have that is similar in price.
what if we don't want to do the couple's engagement session, do we get a discount?
No. This is a complimentary session that I offer for the purpose of getting to know you better and getting you comfortable in front of me and my camera before the wedding day. If you choose not to take advantage of it there is no discount on your wedding day collection.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Debit and credit
How much is the deposit?
The retainer fee is 25% of the total cost of your collection.
When the remaining amount due?
Final and full payment must be received 7 days prior to the wedding date.
Do you offer a military discount?
Yes. A 5% discount of the total collection will be given to military, police, fire dept, and teachers with proper I.D.
Do you offer payment plan options
Yes. We can work out as many payments as you need leading up to your wedding day. We will set a date each month that I will send you an invoice for payment with your final payment being due 7 days before your wedding date.
Can we meet before I book?
Absolutely! I encourage it. The best way to do this would be for us to meet someplace local so that we can chat face to face. If that isn't possible we can always do video chat on Facebook.
Will you hold my date for me?
I cannot hold a date without a retainer fee and a signed terms and conditions agreement. If someone else contacts me for your date and they are ready to pay and sign then they will get the booking.
what if something happens to you and you can't photograph my wedding
I have a list of photographer friends in the area, I promise that I, or someone in my stead will frantically call every single one of them until someone is able to come shoot your wedding. If someone simply cannot be found I will cry, apologize in a million and one different ways and then refund you every single penny of your money. There are only a couple of reasons I would not show up to your wedding. Death (of myself of someone close to me) and/or injury/hospitalization.
If things run late will you stay past your contracted time?
I will, but only have I have spoken with you to make sure that you are willing to pay the overtime fees involved in my staying past our contracted time. If you say stay, I will stay. I will invoice you for the time on a per hour basis (if I only stay 10 minutes over you will be charged for the entire hour). This invoice will arrive after you have let me know that you are back from your honeymoon. No images will be released until overtime payment has been submitted.
can my friends and family take pictures with their cameras?
Yes, of course they can! I will ask they wait to take their shots after I have finished, then I will step aside and give everyone about 20 seconds before I jump back in a reset for the next shot. This will ensure that while I am shooting your professional shots everyone is looking at my camera. After the family formals are done I will take you and your beloved off to an area where it will be just the two of you and me and my camera. This is meant to be a quiet time for the two of you to just quietly connect and reflect before you head to the party.
I saw something about an "unplugged wedding" what do that even mean?
While I will never say no to your friends and family taking pictures of their own, I will say that the ceremony may be one place that you might want to consider asking your guests to "unplug" from their devices and just be in the moment with you. I have been to wedding where the groom could not even see his bride coming down the aisle because of the sea of cell phones and tablets. Guests will sometime literally step out into the aisle to get a picture which, incidentally will also ruin your professional photographer (you know the one that you paying) picture of that moment as well. Another thing that can ruin your professional's images causing moments to be missed is the flashes from your guests devices. Our camera settings are dialed in for the lighting that is in the room and when a flash (or 10) goes off it will completely blow out the image into a mess of whiteness. Plus, there is really something to be said about just enjoying the moment.
My venue is asking for a certificate of insurance from you, can you get that?
Yes, of course. I will need some time so this request will need to be made at least 2 months in advance of your wedding date. Each venue requires different things so please find out exactly what they need I will do my best to get a certificate that meets their needs.
Do we give you a "shot list"?
Yes & No. I have a general idea of what need to be captured for most wedding day. Details, getting ready, bride shots, groom shots, bridal party shots, the ceremony, dances, etc. etc. Shot lists actually tend to slow me down . I prefer to shoot your day in a documentary style that will help tell the story of your wedding day. Now all that said, if there is anything super special about your day that I just can't miss then please, make sure I am made aware of that. I will also ask for a shot list for family groupings to ensure that in the rush of trying to get everyone to the reception we don't forget to photograph you with the people who are important to you.
How long will it take to get our pictures?
You will receive an online gallery from which you can download your images within 4 to 6 weeks of your wedding date. You will receive tangible image products in different time frames based on what your wedding day collection includes.
How many pictures do we get?
I guarantee at least 300 fully images. It is likely but not guaranteed that you will receive more than that.
is it cheaper if I get the unedited images and edit them myself?
Since editing is part of what makes my styled mine I do not ever release unedited files so the answer to that is no.
Can I see the pictures that didn't get edited?
As I said in the previous question I never release unedited images. The images that are selected for your gallery are selected because they meet my standards of my final product. Please know that if an image does not make to your gallery then it was either a duplicate, very similar to another photo, or truly an outtake. If it didn't make the cut then it is deleted from my hard drives and gone forever.
How does the wedding album get made?
It is a process that involves you choosing your favorites from your gallery which I will then design your album from. Once that is done I will send the album design to you for approval, once it is approved you can expect your album to arrive in 3 to 4 weeks.
Do you offer videography?
No, I am not a videographer.
