You may remember me writing a few weeks ago about The Burg Rocks. I have since learned that this movement is part of a much larger movement called Kindness Rocks.
The whole thing is about bringing joy to others through an unexpected surprise of a beautifully painted rock. Some rocks are simple with just a sweet messages while others are painted by the most amazingly talented artist. Each and every one is special because the artist took time from their busy day to paint a rock and then put it out into the world simply to make another person happy.
I started wondering if I could do a little something extra with a few of the rocks I paint. I had an idea but I debated over it for a long while. I worried that it would be tacky and if people would think that I did it simply to promote my business. Believe me, I argued with myself over this for quite some time. I finally landed on this. I know what my motives are, I simply want to share my talent for capturing beautiful images with other people. That said, I have painted and will be hiding 10 special rocks. Each rock will act as a coupon so to speak. When someone finds one of these special rocks they will find a message on the back leading them to visit my website. After they have contacted me to gain access to the page attached to the number on their rock they will receive a password and then they will find out what their special offer is. They can then choose to take advantage of the offer and book a session with me. Now it is obviously completely up to the finder if they choose to take advantage of my offer. It is also up to the finder, regardless of whether they take advantage of the offer or not if they want to keep the rock or if they want to re-hide it for someone else to find.
Most of the rocks offer a reduced session and digital image collection fee, but one special rock offers a completely free session and digital image collection.
Painting rocks is a somewhat selfish thing for me as I actually enjoy the rock painting, the hiding and the feeling that I get knowing that someone might get a smile from the rocks I put out. Now I am excited to put these beauties out and hopefully create some beautiful images for their finders.
